Colin Schmidt
President, CEO & Director
Colin is a natural-born entrepreneur and received much of his early sales and relationship management education from family businesses.
Colin Schmidt co-founded TerraPro with his father-in-law Richard in 2006 and, nearly two decades later, continues to run our company with its family business origins at the heart of everything he does.
With over 35 years of sales experience and 15 years in the Canadian oil and gas industry, Colin oversees the strategic direction and operations and is heavily involved in our growth and business development activities.
Chris Martin
Senior Vice President
Chris joined TerraPro in 2016. He has over 25 years of experience as a small business owner in the transportation and oil & gas industries. Chris identifies and evaluates new business opportunities, conducts market research, develops proposals, and collaborating with various departments, while also overseeing fleet management operations, including acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles and equipment.
Chris enjoys puttering in his shop and spending time with family. He also loves his motorsports; everything from dirt biking to snowmobiling. He has a bit of a soft spot for his wife’s dog Marty and his three young grandsons.
Tory Tebb
Chief Operating Officer
Tory has spent over 30 years in the construction industry and owned a construction company for 17 years before joining the TerraPro team in 2023.
Because of his experience of running a business, he brings with him a strong skillset in operations management. Tory oversees our operations and leads our wash plant and manufacturing plan staff.
In his spare time, you’ll find Tory enjoying all sorts of motor sports and vintage vehicles, travelling with his wife, or hanging out with his four kids and two grandkids.
Jeannine Mallett
Chief Financial Officer
Jeannine joined the TerraPro team in 2022 and has over 25 years of accounting, finance, and change management experience. As a Certified Management Accountant, she has spent the majority of her career as a consultant helping businesses and NPOs navigate periods of change, whether in leadership or in modernizing their accounting systems.
Jeannine works with the finance and administration teams and collaborates with the board of directors and leadership team to optimize the financial performance of the company.
In her spare time, you’ll find Jeannine enjoying time with her family and friends.

C. JAMES DAVIS, CHAIR
Mr. Davis is the former President and CEO of the ECL Group of Companies Ltd. whose businesses included a significant bulk liquid transportation company in Western Canada, a specialty chemical manufacturer, transportation and disposal of hazardous liquids and soil remediation companies. Prior to ECL, he was in the finance group with Greyhound Canada and progressive roles in public practice with Deloitte Touche. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCMA, CA).
When RTL-Westcan acquired the business of ECL Transportation, Mr. Davis became President and Chair of the Executive Steering Committee and remained with the Company for five years after the acquisition. He is currently a mentor to several Western Canada business through an umbrella organization and a director of private companies and not-for-profit organizations.
DWIGHT MARTIN, DIRECTOR
Mr. Martin has more than 25 years of financial management experience involving the implementation of strategic business plans and raising capital for private and public entities. He has founded two public and several private companies in various industries. Mr. Martin has been a partner of a boutique brokerage and financial services group involved in advising small and mid-sized companies on corporate finance, M&A, buyouts, private equity and wealth management.
Dwight owned his own accounting practice from 1993 to 2008 and practiced as a Chartered Accountant providing financial and taxation services to a wide range of businesses. He is a graduate from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with distinction.
DOUG MCCARTNEY, DIRECTOR
Doug McCartney is a partner in the Business Law Group at the Calgary office of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, a Canadian law firm.
He practices in the areas of securities and corporate finance as well as in corporate/commercial law. Doug also has extensive experience acting as a Director and Corporate Secretary to numerous public and private companies. He currently acts as a valued Director and Corporate Secretary to Aveda Transportation and Energy Services Inc. (TSX-V:AVE).
L. EVAN BAERGEN, DIRECTOR
Mr. Baergen has been active in a broad spectrum of enterprises encompassing various business sectors, including manufacturing, technology, consulting and service industries. Evan has educational degrees in Electronic Engineering Technology (Northern Alberta Institute of Alberta), Bachelor of Business Administration (Simon Fraser University), and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, having articled with Price Waterhouse.
He has been active in a wide range of senior management roles, such as the CEO of a Canadian public Issuer, CEO and CFO of various US public companies, private and public Issuer turnarounds, implementation of leading-edge technology projects, and various advisory engagement roles.
Mr. Baergen also has been active in mergers and acquisitions, as well as several start-ups. He has served, or currently serves, as an officer or director of numerous public, private and not-for-profit companies.
WADE MCGOWAN, DIRECTOR
Mr. McGowan is the former President & Chief Executive Officer of Ironhand Drilling Inc. prior to its sale to CWC in May 2014.
From 2003 to 2005, Mr. McGowan was the President of McGowan Consulting Corp. where he provided engineering and consulting services in the areas of drilling, completion, reserves and economics.
From 1996 to 2003, Mr. McGowan co-founded and presided over three oil and gas exploration companies: Catalina Energy, Causeway Energy and Bushmills Energy. He also worked as a petroleum engineer for Northstar Energy, Enron Oil and Gas and Canada Northwest Energy.
Mr. McGowan holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
JEFF SCHELLENBERG, DIRECTOR
Mr. Schellenberg is the Chief Executive Officer of Decisive Dividend Corporation, an acquisition-oriented company that owns 11 manufacturing businesses across Canada and the UK.
Prior to joining Decisive Dividend, Mr. Schellenberg was Co-CEO & CFO of TerraPro Inc. Mr. Schellenberg began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch Canada Inc. after completing his legal articles at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP and being called to the bar in Ontario in 2006.
Jeff completed his LL.B. / MBA from the University of Alberta in 2005 and has a B.Com from the University of Alberta.
